MENTOR NETWORK

 

The basic aim of the institution's mentoring scheme is to help freshman students integrate smoothly into college life by providing ongoing, individual, personalised advice on student matters relating to their studies. Students are admitted to the program based on personal application and receive personal support according to their needs. Appointment request by e-mail. Contacts are below.

 

The mentors' tasks are:

  • help students to get to know the college and overcome their integration problems
  • providing students with individual advice and information on academic matters (individual study plans, examination timetables, credit system, student requirements)
  • providing support for the efficient management of academic and other student affairs at the College
  • assisting students in their academic progress, overcoming learning difficulties and motivating them to perform better
  • assisting students in answering and resolving questions and queries related to their studies and courses
  • facilitates and effectively supports the development of professional competences
  • maintains continuous contact with the mentored students, holding regular mentoring consultations (weekly or otherwise if required), the dates of which are communicated to the students at the beginning of the semester
  • assists students in choosing and applying for work placements and provides career guidance
  • informs students about the services of the college and the possibilities to use them (TDK activities, TPF library, Szabo Lőrinc Library (in cooperation with TPF), sports facilities (in cooperation with Völgy Fitness)
  • inform the mentoring programme manager about its activities every six months, who will report to the college management on the operation of the mentoring system and the results of the experience.
