COVID-19 information for foreign students

 

As of 15 July, the Hungarian government applies a three-fold categorization of countries based on the coronavirus situation (green, yellow, and red), and stipulates the rules of entry of Hungarian and foreign citizens accordingly. The categorization of each country is included in the relevant government decree. In the case of transfer passengers, the category of the country of origin shall be applicable.

 

Foreign citizen arriving from countries in the green category ise allowed to enter Hungary without restrictions, but if he/she has symptoms of the infection within 14 days after entry, then he/she must not leave his/her place of residence, and must immediately notify the epidemiological authority by telephone. Countries in the green category include all member states of the EU, the EEA, and Switzerland, except for Bulgaria, Romania, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Spain and Norway.

 

arriving from countries in the yellow category undergo medical examination on entry. If a suspicion of infection is established, the foreign passenger is not allowed to enter Hungary. If no suspicion of infection arises, then the passenger is allowed to enter, but it is mandatory for him/her to go to home quarantine or the quarantine designated by the epidemiological authority for 14 days. No quarantine is needed if the foreign citizen crossing the border proves with a Hungarian or English document, including the results of two SARS-CoV-2 tests (molecular biology examination in compliance with professional medical practice) performed at two different times with at least 48 hours between them in the course of the preceding 5 days, that the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus was not detected in his/her body at the time of the tests.

 

Foreign citizens arriving from countries in the red category are not allowed to enter Hungary in passenger traffic.

The decree also stipulates that no restrictions shall apply to persons who creditable prove, when entering Hungary, that they have contracted COVID-19 and were healed within the preceding 6 months.

 

All persons entering Hungary (including citizens of countries within the Schengen zone) must subject themselves to document check, body temperature measurement, and – if necessary – additional medical examination. The decision on granting entry to the country shall be made by

authority personnel on site, based on the conditions and pre-requisites stipulated in the relevant decrees.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tasks to do:

 

- Foreing students arriving to Hungary – before arriving at the hostel of Tomori Pal College – MUST perform two SARS-CoV-2 tests. They are allowed to move in the hostel in case they have two negative results on tests.

- The hostel of Tomori Pal College does not meet the requirements of quarantine, therefore, students need to book room/flat for the duration of quarantine (14 days) and stay there. After 14 days, if there are no symptoms, they can move in the hostel.

- Make sure that you already have a flat booked by the time you arrive in Hungary, otherwise you will get into trouble and will not have a place to stay. The receptionsits of the hostel are NOT ALLOWED to let you move in your room if the abovementioned conditions are not met.

- Please keep in mind that the police will check whether you stay in the flat during quarantine. You MUST NOT leave your flat for 14 days, otherwise you will have to pay penalty of a huge sum. During quarantine, please DO NOT MEET anybody, including friends.
